Which woman do you want to see remembered in a new statue in Leeds?

Rachel and Judith Blake, Leader of Leeds City Council have been backed by the Yorkshire Evening Post in calling for the erection of a new statue of a woman in Leeds.

There are very few public artworks depicting women in the city or around the country, with just twelve listed across the whole of Yorkshire. Significantly, there are no statues in Leeds that portray a woman from the area. Rachel is working to change this and is encouraging women and men from Leeds have their say on which local woman should be honoured with a statue.
