It was an absolute pleasure to visit Castleton Primary School Leeds after receiving letters from the now Year 6 class on their ideas for new, affordable housing in the local area.

The pupils have been part of a housing consultation with New Wortley Community Association and Leeds City Council as well as lobbying Chris Wormald, Permanent Secretary at the Department for Health when he visited New Wortley earlier in the year.

The children performed their presentation on why it was important for them to see better, more affordable housing. They also asked me a number of questions about parliament, crime and the improvements they want to see in their community. I was incredibly impressed with the hard work put in by all of the pupils and staff on this project and want to extend my thanks for inviting me to take part. It was a truly memorable afternoon.
