I was delighted to visit Five Lanes Primary recently to speak to the pupils that have been learning how to play chess. The visit was organised by ‘Chess in Schools and Communities’ who are helping the school by providing chess tutors.

After watching the pupils have a lesson I played against seven groups of children in simultaneous games, it was great fun and we had to think fast. I did manage to win all the games but I am looking forward to going back next year and seeing if any of them can beat me!
