Rachel opens Yorkshire Water's Bramley Service Reservoir

Recently Rachel opened the Yorkshire Water’s Bramley Service Reservoir and marked the end of the construction of one of the largest underground reservoirs in Yorkshire.

Rachel was thrilled to see the site and learn more about the Yorkshire Water’s scheme and the £4 million investment, which will supply water to almost 30000 properties.

The new tank, located off Broad Lane in Bramley, has replaced an ageing underground storage facility in Bramley with a new structure which is capable of holding up to 16 million litres of treated drinking water. Rachel was also joined by Bramley Cllr Kevin Ritchie.

Rachel said:

“It was really interesting to visit the Broad Lane Yorkshire Water reservoir site and hear about this project. I was thrilled to be able to officially open the reservoir and meet the staff involved. It’s brilliant that Yorkshire Water managed to switch from the old supply to the new supply without any disruption to local residents”.
