Rachel calls for LUFC to sign up as Living Wage employer

Rachel has called on Leeds United to sign up to be a Living Wage employer.

A supporter of the Living Wage Campaign, Rachel argues that paying the Living Wage not only makes good business sense, but would also make a strong statement about our city.

“If Leeds signed up to pay the Living Wage, they’d be the first club in the Championship to do so. That would make a real statement about what they stand for as the city’s only club. West Ham, Chelsea, Luton and Hearts have already signed up to pay the Living Wage.

Leeds United should be a standard bearer for our city off the field, not just on it. They pay their players thousands of pounds per week, and should be leading the way in paying its staff a living wage, and contributing to the city’s aims to be the best place to live.

They don't get the huge TV deals that Premiership clubs benefit from, but paying the living wage makes business sense, as thousands of companies large and small up and down the country are proving.”
