I am delighted that the Great Get Together is happening once again this June. It is an excellent way for communities to get together, build friendships and of course remember the late Jo Cox MP. 

Last year in Leeds the Great Get Together was a huge success with many events happening over the city, and I encourage this to happen again. 

The Great Get Together is an initiative set up by Jo Cox’s family and was designed to encourage us to unite against our differences. It is an opportunity to get to know our neighbours and communities more. Last year 59% of participants did not know their neighbours until the Great Get Together, and so it is a great opportunity to get to know our neighbours and communities more.

There are many different types of events that you can hold over the weekends such as street parties, coffee mornings or by having lunch with some neighbours.
