Over the weekend of the 17^th and 18^th June, the whole country is invited to come together to hold the biggest street party since the Jubilee in memory of my friend, Jo Cox MP, who was tragically murdered last year. 

The event, called the Great Get Together, will see thousands of street parties, picnics and bake-offs held around the UK in order to bring communities together and to send a message to everyone that there is more that unites us than divides us.

I look forward to attending a street party in Leeds West and I would encourage everyone to get involved in organising a street party in your local area -; and, of course, to join the community in celebrating Jo’s message of unity by attending a street party on the 17^th or 18^th June.
