Rachel Reeves Labour Member of Parliament for Leeds West
On Monday 4th August at 10am the Bramley War Memorial Dedication Ceremony will take place at the War Memorial site. The War Memorial now stands at the main entrance to Bramley Park and is the result of two years hard campaigning and fundraising by the Friends of Bramley War Memorial group.
Monday’s dedication service will feature songs and readings, as well as a moments silence in honour of the 270 known fallen Bramley war heroes. Rachel will be doing a reading at the dedication ceremony, an extract from the writings of Bramley veteran Peter Paylor who will also be in attendance.
Rachel commented:
“It has been an important campaign to see Bramley get its own War Memorial and I am pleased that the community finally has a fitting tribute to those from the area who laid down their lives for our country.
“I hope the Memorial will be a site for quiet reflection all year round, as well as being important venue for Armed Forces and Remembrance Day services.
“The Friends of Bramley War Memorial have worked extremely hard to get us to this point in just two years and I would like to thank them for their dedication”
