Leeds City Council Executive Board have today approved a funding package for Kirkstall Forge which should allow major works to start on the site and proposed train station.
Kirkstall Forge is set to comprise of a new riverside village including affordable housing and leisure facilities, bringing an estimated 1800 direct jobs to the area.

“I’m delighted that hard work on all sides has brought the development of Kirkstall Forge another step closer. This development, and the train station at the heart of it, will bring new jobs and homes into our community, and offer a quick and easy route into town via public transport, making use of a spectacular brownfield site in Kirkstall.
I will continue to work with Leeds City Council, West Yorkshire Metro, the Department for Transport and developer to make sure we see shovels in the ground sooner rather than later.”
