Last week Rachel attended a seminar event with 6th Form students at Leeds West Academy in Rodley. The seminar topic was young people and politics. The main focus of the discussion was why so many young people appear to be disengaged with politics and students were keen to express their views.

Rachel explained the importance of voting and how it affects people’s everyday life. She spoke about the role of a Parliamentarian and implications of who you vote for and how it affects your area. The students were very keen to talk about economics and being one of Rachel’s specialties it was an insightful discussion. Rachel would like to say a big thank you to all the students that got involved and for inviting her to be part of the debate.
