I am disappointed that Boots have taken the decision to close their pharmacy on Armley Town Street, and it is also concerning that the Card Factory and Wilsons’ Pies are also at risk of closure.
Businesses like these are a huge loss vital to our community, and this will be a huge loss to residents and shoppers in Armley. Boots is a vital service for the community in Armley due to its pharmacy and needle exchange scheme. Town Street needs greater investment, and I am committed to working with the Council to ensure that our high streets not only survive this crisis, but are able to thrive.
This week, I have written to Sebastian James, CEO of Boots UK to ask him to reconsider this closure.
