Kirkstall Forge Train Station nears completion

Rachel visiting Kirkstall Forge Station

I was really excited to visit Kirkstall Forge last week. The progress that has been made since I last visited has been huge. I have been visiting the site for almost 8 years now and it is fantastic to see the development start to come to life.

The train station is nearly finished and the road is waiting to be tarmacked and ready for when the first trains arrive early next year. When Kirkstall Forge station is completed, it will be the first train station to open in Leeds for 30 years and I am delighted that it will be in my constituency. From early next year, local residents will be able to enjoy a faster commute into the centre of Leeds and also have a direct link towards Bradford.

When finished, Kirkstall Forge will be a great place to live, work and spend leisure time. It will also be an important link between two areas of the Leeds West Constituency, Bramley and Kirkstall, and benefit all of west Leeds, providing much needed jobs and affordable houses.
