Last Thursday Rachel attended the grand opening of 'The Hub' on Armley Town Street. 'The Hub' has been set up by the Healthy Living Network Leeds, a charity based in Armley aimed at tackling health inequalities and empowering communities to make positive changes.

Staff and volunteers at 'The Hub' are offering a wide variety of activities for the local community including craft clubs, baking clubs, a volunteering course to gain a variety of work experience, tea parties for older people, guerilla gardening, monthly markets and edible bed planting. 'The Hub' also has its very owner greengrocer on hand every Wednesday and Thursday selling fresh, affordable fruit and veg to the people of Armley.

'I think its really fantastic that the Healthy Living Network has set up its Hub in the centre of Armley. The amount of activities on offer is phenomenal and I would urge everyone to make use of the things they have on offer. I know it has taken a great deal of effort to get 'The Hub' up and running and I am sure that it will be a great success'
