Continuing the campaign for Hawksworth Wood Post Office

Rachel has been continuing the Hawksworth Wood Post Office campaign this week by surveying local residents and taking their concerns to senior Post Office officials.

The Hawksworth Wood Post Office has been under threat from closure in the past and currently there are controversial plans to relocate it.

Rachel is working hard to make sure that the Post Office - which has been in place for 60 years - continues to offer a service which is right for the area.

The response to the survey has been overwhelming and a great deal of local residents have come out to talk to Rachel in order to offer their opinions and support.

Rachel said:

“My number one priority is to make sure there is a Post Office in Hawksworth. My local survey has shown that people are opposed to the planned move and I’m determined to make sure their voice is heard.

I met with the Post Office this morning to examine potential options for the future of the branch.  We have stopped their closure plans before, and I will not allow the Post Office to run roughshod over the local community again.”
