Covid-19 Update

As the COVID vaccination programme rolls out, I want to say a huge well done to our NHS and front line workers all across the country and in Leeds West – you are doing an amazing job!

Whilst this brings hope for a return to normality in the not too distance future, just a reminder to make sure that you continue to follow the current social distancing guidelines:

Please ensure that you continue to wear face coverings in indoor settings and socially distance where possible.

Please do book in for a free COVID-19 test if you are experiencing any of the three main symptoms which are:

a high temperature

a new, continuous cough

a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

You and anyone that you live with must then self-isolate until you receive a negative test result. If you result is positive, you and anyone you live with must self-isolate immediately and keep self-isolating until you’re no longer infectious.

The self-isolation period includes the day your symptoms started (or the day you had the test, if you do not have symptoms) and the next 10 full days.

If you have been asked to self-isolate by the NHS Test and Trace service, you may be entitled to a support payment of £500, more information can be found here: https://www.leeds.gov.uk/coronavirus/self-isolation-support

If you are self-isolating and don’t have friends or family locally who can help you, you can contact Leeds City Council on 0113 376 0330 and their volunteers can help with shopping, collecting medicines or a phone call to check how you are. https://www.mindwell-leeds.org.uk/coronavirus-hub

If you are self-isolating or spending more time at home due to your work or school being closed, it is important to take care of yourself. You may be feeling anxious, lonely or stressed. There is lots of support available to take care of your mental health at Mindwell.
