My visit to Bramley Baths
My visit to Bramley Baths

This week I wrote to Rt Hon Oliver Dowdon, Secretary of State for Culture regarding the need for clarity for the reopening of pools.

This follows on from my meeting with Bramley Baths yesterday about the impact that the Coronavirus has had on their business. It is strange and inconsistent that pubs and restaurants are able to open but that swimming pools and gyms are not permitted to open.

As a Friend of Bramley Baths, I have urged the Culture Secretary to clarify the Government’s plans regarding the re-opening of swimming pools and called on the Minister to safeguard the future of the pool and the team working at Bramley Baths.

Bramley Baths is an important community asset, that Bramley has fought hard to keep. I will work hard to ensure that it is not lost because of the current crisis.
