Following on from the good news after the successful bus drop-in event last year, services have been extended in the Gamble Lane area of Farnley.

The move comes after residents contacted Rachel to complain of feeling ‘cut-off’ due to a lack of services. After a continued campaign by residents and Rachel, Councillor James Lewis, Chair of West Yorkshire Combined Authority Transport Committee, appealed to bus operator Yorkshire Tiger to ask if they would divert the no. 62 service.

Yorkshire Tiger have now confirmed they will divert the service to operate via Water Lane and Wood Lane, reaching residents on Gamble Lane, and this change will be implemented from 27th April 2014.

Rachel commented:

“I am really pleased residents on Gamble Lane are finally getting a service into Leeds City Centre, after feeling cut-off for several years. People in the area have already contacted me to voice their pleasure and I am grateful to Cllr James Lewis for taking up this matter on behalf of myself and the Gamble Lane residents.”
