Shortly after International Women’s Day, I was kindly invited by Barclays to attend the launch event for the Yorkshire, Celebrating Women in Business Awards 2016 at The Liquorist, Leeds.

The awards, hosted by Barclays, are focussed on the work of local women at all levels of business, including local entrepreneurs and women in SME’s as well as those who have contributed to industry and engineering.

I was pleased to introduce the event and to talk about the importance of women in the workplace, especially given the celebrations of International Women’s Day just a few days earlier.

The awards encourage an environment that supports women on their entrepreneurial journey and they are a fantastic opportunity for ladies across the region to network and share ideas and knowledge.

Nominations for the awards are now open, and the successful women will be announced on Friday 24^th June 2016.
