Leeds has officially launched its bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2023.

Leeds is a vibrant, open city, and a hub for creativity and culture. From art galleries to museums, community centres to independent music venues, we are a city that can come together and showcase what we have to offer. Becoming European Capital of Culture in 2023 will help us achieve that goal. I’m proud to back Leeds’s bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2023 and I hope that it is successful.
