Yesterday, Rachel welcomed Harriet Harman MP, Labour’s Deputy Leader leader Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to Leeds for events at two our greatest cultural and sporting institutions.
One of the stops on the tour of the city was the fantastic Headingley Carnegie Stadium, home to Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire Carnegie. While at the stadium, Rachel and Harriet got to witness first-hand the amazing work that these clubs do in their community and how they benefit the local economy.
The work that these clubs do to help disadvantaged youths in the city is a real credit to both the clubs and rugby – giving young people across our county something to really aspire to.
Rachel and Harriet also got to hear about the huge benefits that Rugby 2015 will bring to our city and what a great year for rugby and Leeds this will be!
