Leeds West Academy Pupils Discuss Internet Safety

Last Friday, Rachel visited Leeds West Academy in Bramley to hear pupil’s ideas about staying safe online.  The visit was part of the  ‘Well Versed’ initiative, a partnership between Google and The Parent Zone to help young people stay safe from the potential dangers of the web.

The project aims to upload short clips of pupil’s advice to the ‘Well Versed’ website. The clips will be edited into a special film and uploaded onto You Tube.

Rachel said, “With young people spending more and more time online, it is really important that we do everything to keep them safe. I really enjoyed hearing pupil’s ideas about how to stay safe online. Many young people will know far more than their parents and teachers about the online world so it’s vital we listen to their views and experiences.”
