Big Lottery confirms funding for new Community Centre at New Wortley

The Big Lottery has this week confirmed that New Wortley Community Association is to receive a further £686,674 towards the construction of a new, multi-purpose building.

The news comes as a great boost for the community centre which has been providing services and support to the people of New Wortley since it was founded in 1982. The community celebrated  in style by baking a cake depicting how the new centre will look. Rachel said:

"New Wortley Community Centre does exceptional work and the ‘Our Place’ initiative is all about bringing the community together to address local issues and improve the lives and opportunities for those living in the area. This funding will give them the tools they need to do even more, and I'm delighted to continue supporting Bill Graham and all involved."
